It was just eight weeks into my pregnancy with you that things started to go wrong. I started to
bleed and had a scan to find out what was going on. They found that I had a large haemorage in my
uterus and that my fluid levels were low. By 13 weeks the fluid had just disappeared completely. I
went through three painful amnio infusions to try to help you, but was told at 20 weeks your lungs
looked small and were likely to be damaged. We were told that you had less than 10%chance of living
but we had to give you that little chance - a decsion that I will never regret. You were so squashed
up that on scans we just couldnt see you properly at all. We were told at one scan that your little
foot didnt look right but like the rest of your little body it turned out to be just perfect.
At 27 weeks you just decided that you had had enough and wanted to meet us. It was a very scary time
for us as we were rushed to theatre as your cord had started to deliver first. You was born by
emergency section at 10.55 am. we first got to see you at 11.30am when you were wheeled past in your
little incubator to special care. I wasnt worried that I didnt get to hold you as I was just
relieved you were alive. The baby doctor told us that you were very poorly, but me and daddy never
gave up hope. We came to see you in special care you looked so tiny, although you were almost 3lb so
not as tiny as you could have been. I got to have cuddles with you and lots of your family came to
see you for the first time. Sadly it just wasnt meant to be, your little lungs were just too tiny
and they burst with the high pressures of oxygen and you also had a cardiac arrest. I decided with
daddy that it just wasnt fair to put you through so much pain. Your life support was switched off
and you died peacefully soon after in mummys arms. You stayed with us over night and the next day,
lots of people came to see you and gave you lots of cuddles. You were picked up by a nice man Robert
(the undertaker) on xmas eve, he took you away in a moses basket. It was very sad but I knew he
would look after you. Daddy arranged your funeral for new years eve. Mummy daddy and charlotte came
to see you in your little white coffin the day before. You were dressed in the clothes Daddy had
bought you - you looked so cosy just like you were fast asleep. Daddy carried your coffin at your
funeral, as we came in to church away in a manger was playing. We didnt have any flowers for you
except the ones off me and daddy, but all our friends and family donated money which we gave to the
special care baby unit as a thankyou for looking after you and to help other little babies like
you.

Dandelions from Heaven
Mothers day is coming And I wanted to send you a sign
something you can tell others; "Is from an angel of mine
So I searched the heavens high and low for that perfect thing....
And low and behold I found it.... And a smile I hope it will bring.
So when you look to the heavens and see the yellow stars in the sky
Just think of me .... your angel... in the heavens way up high
And just imagine those stars; are dandelions up above.
Yes! Dandelions are also in heaven; which you know how much I love.
So on this mothers day and you awake and feel blue....
You will notice those yellow stars... are no longer in view.
So look to the meadows and the dandelions you see...
Are the ones I've tossed down this mothers day from me.
And when you find a dandelion that has turned from yellow to white;
Youre supposed to make a wish and then blow with all your might.
For you will be blowing kisses to me in heaven above....
And I will be catching them and blowing them back sent with all my love.
Please know that l am with you.... on this mothers day....
And also in the days ahead.... God and I will never stray.
We will be with you in the morning ....when you awake and see the sun....
We will be with you when you say your prayers when the day is done.
For God and I will never be very far from your side....
For I can now be everywhere.... and God will be your guide.
So.... remember when you see dandelions it is your guarantee
That I am always close to you.... for dandelions are free to roam ....now just like me.

This is where our babies are.
Thought of you and closed my eyes
And prayed to God today
I asked "What makes a Mother?"
And I know I heard Him say.
"A Mother has a baby"
This we know is true
"But God can you be a Mother,
when your baby's not with you?"
"Yes, you can," He replied
With confidence in His voice
"I give many women babies,
When they leave is not their choice.
